Kim Martin

Full-Time Teaching Artist

Kim received her undergraduate degree in clinical psychology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2017 and worked as an ABA therapist for five years before joining CircEsteem. As a therapist, Kim provided behavioral and social support to children on the autism spectrum. As a Chicago native and daughter of Mexican and Central American immigrants, she is passionate about providing a safe, supportive environment for children of diverse backgrounds to express themselves. She has worked with youth from a wide range of backgrounds, ages, and abilities and is dedicated to helping children grow the behavioral and social skills that enable them to confidently interact with the world. Kim discovered circus through an aerial conditioning class at Aloft Circus Arts and has been in love with trapeze, lyra, and hand balancing ever since. She loves sharing her passion for circus with youth all over the city and helping nascent performers develop their skills.
