Summary:

CircEsteem promotes the development of self-esteem, personal success and empowerment by (i) promoting the practice of circus arts; (ii) uniting youth from diverse backgrounds; (iii) providing social and emotional skill building; (iv) providing youth opportunities to participate in leadership training which results in paid opportunities throughout their participation with CircEsteem. CircEsteem is looking for a Program Coordinator with strong behavior management skills that can execute applicable programs including program infrastructure; personnel management; program outreach and enrollment at schools located throughout Chicago.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Youth Advocacy

● Collaborate with schools (Hefferan and Morton) on behavior management techniques that are
positive and effective
● Individually mentor youth as requested by parents, program coordinators, instructors, etc.
● Coordinate the collection of data - grades, surveys, etc. from youth participants, as needed

Programming
● Program outreach to achieve and maintain enrollment goals
● Lead teaching artist team assigned to programs
● Collect and maintain data - intake paperwork, attendance, assessments
● Continuously adapt and improve program effectiveness

● Provide overall structure, support, and ability to problem-solve within assigned program
● Utilize curriculum and submit lesson plans weekly
● Incorporate circus skills within the social and emotional skill building curriculum created by and
for CircEsteem
● Determine group topics/subjects as they relate to daily lesson plans and program curriculum
● In coordination with Program Director, design and upkeep data to track program outcomes
● Create and maintain student files

CircEsteem Staff and Instructors
● Conduct workshops for Instructors and staff on various subjects in coordination with the
Program Leadership Team
● Be available for instructors or staff to discuss issues they may have with a program participant
● Attend and participate in staff trainings

Education and Experience
● Strong behavior management techniques or experience working with youth experiencing
trauma
● MSW/LCSW or currently pursuing licensure preferred
● Fluent writing and speaking Spanish preferred
● Flexible with constantly changing situations
● Team player and collaborator
● Independent, critical thinker who has the ability to problem-solve
● Ability to positively communicate with co-workers, administration, parents, and youth

Compensation
● Salary: $50,000 - $55,000/ year with advanced degree, $45,000-49,000 without advanced degree
● Paid Time Off for Supervision towards licensure
● Benefits: 1% of salary is contributed monthly towards 403b retirement account or Health
Insurance Plan
● Paid Time Off: 20 days (5 days earned per quarter)
